【Keynote Speech】Multi-modal Transport Optimization: A focus on maritime transportation route selection

【Abstract】Maritime logistics has become dominant in the marine economy. One reason is because ports are an important pillar of marine economic development as the “distribution centers” of maritime transportation in recent years. It is a complex industrial model that integrates transportation, warehousing, freight forwarding, and also is an indispensable part of the marine economy. In this research, a multi-modal combined transport network has been constructed to integrate the relevant information of road transport, railway transport, air transport and maritime transport. Consequently, a multi-modal container transportation route selection method is developed and tested. Transportation node and route prediction is introduced to counteract the limitations of the previous route selection optimization methods based on fixed historical information.
